Madeleine and James moved to France in 2013 in search of a more slow-living lifestyle. One of their biggest dreams was to create a beautiful French garden and vegetable garden where they could enjoy the long hot summers and fresh homegrown produce. After finding a beautiful property in rural Charente, they spent countless hot summer days (and some very cold winter ones!) transforming their blank canvas garden and surrounding field into a beautiful French-inspired cottage garden.

Ce que nous faisons - What We Do
Ce transformation était vraiement un travail d’amour, plein d’essais et d’erreurs. Malgré tout, pendant ce procès ils ont appris l’effet du terroir et du climat sur la culture ainsi que les produits et les nécessaires indispensables. C’était cette expérience qui les a inspiré à fonder l’entreprise Gourcilloux, jardinerie-pépinière.
This transformation was a real labour of love and required some serious trial and error. However, throughout the process, they discovered what planting works well with the climate and soil as well as supplies and products that they now, couldn't do without. The experience inspired them to start their garden business, Gourcilloux, to not only help others through their own experiences but also to share their love of gardening and everything it involves.
